Reviewing headings and tables in PDF-to-Markdown output
Check headings, tables, footnotes and reading order before using your Markdown in another workflow.
Opening a Markdown file successfully does not mean its content matches the source. Review both structure and meaning.
Updated:
How to use it
- Open the source PDF beside a Markdown preview.
- Check heading levels, table rows, footnotes and page transitions.
- After corrections, reopen the file in the intended editor.
Headings and reading order
Check that #, ## and ### headings form a meaningful hierarchy. Do not mistake running headers for section titles. Compare with the source before joining paragraphs split by columns or page breaks.
Tables, footnotes and reuse
Check tables cell by cell, not just visually. Merged cells may not fit a plain Markdown table. Match footnote markers with their notes. Look for missing sections before importing into a knowledge base: well-structured Markdown does not automatically correct recognition errors.
Review your results
Markdown viewers differ in support for tables and footnotes. Check the final file in the application where it will be used.
